RSA COURSE

RSA Courses are delivered face to face in a classroom setting. 

This is accredited by the Director of Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR), to deliver the Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) course in Melbourne & Regional Victoria.

This course includes content that is specific to Victorian liquor laws and is delivered in accordance with those topics set out on the VCGLR website www.vcglr.vic.gov.au

It is a requirement that anyone working within a licensed alcohol-serving venue in Melbourne, Victoria to have completed a SITHFAB002 Responsible Service of Alcohol and a VCGLR RSA certificate.

The 6-hour RSA course provides training in how to provide responsible service of alcohol.

Participants in the RSA course are required to bring proof of identification documents, such as a passport or driver’s licence on the day of training.

All staff working in a venue that sells food in Victoria is required to complete and hold a food safety handler certificate.

Courses are delivered via face-to-face in a classrooms across Victoria.

NWVT provides training in the national unit of competence SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety. This course, also more commonly known as a food safety handler course outlines the knowledge required to work hygienically and safely with food.

This food handling course conducted throughout Victoria is designed for participants involved in food preparation in the hospitality and tourism industries.

The food handling course provides participants with basic cleaning and hygiene knowledge, skills, principles, practices and procedures. It forms essential foundation knowledge to food safety supervisors, chefs, cooks, food and beverage handlers, kitchen hands, kiosk attendants, café staff and food handling staff in small businesses.

The food safety handler course covers the following criteria:

  • What is food safety and why is it important;
  • How to identify and assess food safety hazards;
  • Procedures for controlling risks;
  • Monitor food safety in the workplace.
